To
carry out investigations, risk assessments and measures in contaminated
building can be difficult. One needs knowledge regarding the properties
of the contaminants, how contaminants are distributed, sampling
methodology, what health effects that can occur and how to reduce these
with sustainable decontamination measures.
The
idea with this website is that du can get help when du are going to work
with a project that involves examination and taking care of a
contaminated building. You should be able to read about accomplished
investigations and decontamination projects, experience from
consultants, authorities and entrepreneurs. You should easily find
contact information to experts in various areas, e.g., waste handling,
laboratory analyses, health risks etc. The website is currently only available in

Fenix Environmental can now offer a variety of
measurements services
within the area of contaminated buildings.
Examples
of current issues are land and buildings contaminated with chlorinated
hydrocarbons, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons and polycyclic aromatic
hydrocarbons (PAH).
The
presence of chlorinated hydrocarbons are common i buildings that have
been contaminated from dry cleaning facilities, degreasing facilities
etc. Aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons can emanate from closed down
petrol stations. PAH occur in many situations, e.g., wood impregnation (creosote),
and at gasworks and coke ovens.
One example
of
PAH contamination is the closed down gasworks in Värtahamnen in Stockholm.
New dwellings are planed to be erected at this site and the gasworks
building is aimed to become a cultural arena.
Fenix Environmental
can carry out measurements of low levels of most of the compounds that
are present in contaminated buildings, in many cases using
