Systematic work environment work |
|
Introduction In Sweden, all companies must have an active work environmnet work. In the Work Health Authority ordinance ASF 2001:1 on "Systematic work environment work (SWEW)" [Download the Ordinance] it is stated that the employer is responsible to organise this work that shall be systematic and integrated in the daily activities. The staff shall be involved and get adequate information and education to be able to carry out their work in a safe way. There shall be documented routines for how SWEW shall be carried out and followed up as well as plans for how deficiencies shall be attended to. Basic documents Fenix Environmental has for many years developed a system for documentation of how SWEW is carried out. The system is based on three basic documents. 1. Routines for SWEW. This document describe the organisational structures for SWEW, as well as routines for SWEW. It can be routines for how to handle sickness leave, near-accidents and accidents, how to perform rehabilitation considerations, work environment inspections, work environment committee meetings etc. 2. Follow-up of SWEW. For an effective SWEW, a continuing follow-up both of how the SWEW works and the status of the work environment are important. This document describe how to carry out the follow-up and the results of the follow-up. This document will hence be updated after each follow-up. 3. Action plan for SWEW. During SWEW, occasional deficiencies and other problems are discovered and has to be attended to. Certain deficiencies can be taken care of immediately while others can be more complex or expensive so they need to be planned into an action plan and budget. In this document, the plan for dealing with these deficiencies are listed with time schedule, responsible person and budget. The document are updated regularly when actions are scheduled or completed. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Fenix Environmental can help with translation and validation of your MSDS. MSDS shall contain information about the chemical compounds or products based on their hazardousness. The MSDS shall comply with a standardised format with 16 different sections. A company shall have MSDS for all chemicals and products used in their production. Many of these MSDS are written in foreign language and the quality may vary considerably. This often makes the interpretation of MSDS difficult. The use of MSDS will be significantly facilitated if the MSDS are translated to Swedish and contain validated information.
